Foods That Promote Weight Loss

Eating healthy foods can help you lose weight quickly.  Just as fast foods make you gain weight fast, there a certain foods that help you shed any unwanted pounds.  Here are some tips to losing weight and feeling satisfied with your meal choices.

Just as exercising is important for weight loss, a healthy diet plays a vital role in health, wellness, and lifestyle.

There are several foods that support a healthy lifestyle.  Without spending more than your allotted budget for groceries, you can consume foods that help you lose weight.  The number one example is calcium.  Next to calcium, dairy promotes healthy living. Vitamin C, calcium, dairy, and protein all have fat releasing properties that help your body.

Calcium is popularly known for its presence in milk.  Calcium, whether consumed through milk or other calcium infested foods, helps control hunger.  When your body has the proper amount of calcium, your fat mass decreases and your hunger is better controlled.

Coconut oil is a saturated fat, but it is also really good for the abdominal region.  Improve the ratio of LDL and HDL cholesterol and feel the difference in your stomach.  Olive oil, nuts, seeds, dark chocolate, and avocado are all examples of monounsaturated fatty acids that help keep your stomach lean and your energy levels up.  Specifically, omega-3s are important as they protect from cardiovascular disease.

Next is protein.  Knowing how to fill your body with food is important.  Food is not only for pleasure, but for health to your body.  Intake is imperative.  With a healthy lifestyle in mind, protein is essential for your body.  It promotes healthy hair, nails, skin, muscles, and bones.  Protein increases calorie burn and the feeling of fullness.  Protein can be found in steak, eggs, fish, chicken, nuts, and grains.

In the weight loss process, it is important to keep your portions in mind.  Eating steak, chicken, dark chocolate, and dairy are all healthy choices in comparison to fast foods.  But if you do not maintain your portions, if you do not listen to your body, eating good foods will not be enough to lose weight.  Disclaimer: do not let this discourage you.  Focus on eating healthy foods.  Once you are in the habit of eating good foods, you can work on portion control.

Vitamin C is an unknown jewel in weight loss.  Though its popularity comes from fending off a cold, it is also useful in shedding fat.  Citric fruits like oranges, lemons, and grapefruit, along with strawberries, kiwi, and cantaloupe and vegetables like red peppers are all great sources of vitamin C.

Finally, honey is a good sweetener for your body.  Not only is it a natural sweetener, but studies have shown that honey can be used to reduce weight gain and body fat when used as a sugar substitute.

Finding healthy alternative promotes weight loss and helps you keep an active, long lifetime.  Substitute healthy foods for drive-thru’s and experience the positive side of eating.
